When you disrespect the silent majority, either by having a toxic community or incompetent developers, the silent majority will stay quiet and eventually leave when they've decided a game or community no longer meets their standards. That's why phrases like "git gud" and "skill issue" are so popular, and why hardly anyone speaks out against them. The silent majority is a very real thing, because sane people don't waste time arguing in threads that game devs aren't gonna notice. There have even been many occasions where vocal minorities end up being wrong, and games do better because developers had the guts to think for themselves and ignore what the vocal minority thinks. Not everything is an argument of skill, some things need to be changed to keep a game's balance healthy and make it's players happy. And because those phrases are consistently used to silence people, I strongly believe that using them (outside of ironic humor) makes you look like a corporate shill who wants everyone to think that nothing is wrong. There have even been times where problems go unsolved for a long time due to trolls who keep using those two phrases to shut down discussion. This is not only toxic, but it helps prevent communities and game developers from realizing genuine problems in games. More often than not, whenever you have a valid complaint about something in a game, you'll find people spouting unfunny memes like "git gud" or "skill issue" in an attempt to ridicule you.
